Jonathan Noble top of the Brits in Southern


Tide Classic in South Carolina

Jonathan Noble from Cheshire, a third-year student at Queens University of Charlotte, achieved the highest individual finish - 30th in a final of 75 - of the three Englishmen and one Scot competing in the Southern Tide Classic which finished at Green Valley Country Club, South Carolina today (Tuesday).
Noble, pictured right, had rounds of 79, 72 and 78 for a total of 229 over a par-72 course of 6,952yd.
He finished 12 shots behind the winner by one, Keith Egan (Clayton State) with scores of 73, 75 and 67 for 215.
Kesley March (King University, Tennesee) finished 41st on 232 (75-73-84).

Team-mate Matt Dalrymple, pictured left, from Lochwinnoch and a member at Old Ranfurly Golf Club, finished 42nd with scores of 76, 78 and 79 for 233.
Callum Watson, whose name sounds Scottish, is in fact an Englishman from Southampton and a second-year student at Erskine College, South Carolina.
Callum finished T58 with rounds of 83, 77 and 76 for a total of 236.
Limestone College (883) won the team title by 10 shots from joint runners-up Queens University of Charlotte and Coker College.
King University (921) finished ninth and Erskine College (962) came in last of the 13 teams.
