HUTCH'S EAGLE HELPS HIM WIN £150

 AT BUCKPOOL

Greig Hutcheon (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre, Inchmarlo) headed a field of 90 players with a five-under-par 65 to score his second win of the North-east Alliance season at Buckpool Golf Club today (WED).

Hutcheon, a winner at Fraserburgh on November 9, collected the £150 scratch prize with a card that was highlighted by an eagle 3 at the third and five birdies, at the first, fifth, eighth, ninth and 12th, in halves of 29 (six under par) and 36 (one over). He had bogeys at the 13th and 14th.

David Law (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) was runner-up with a 66 (31-35) which included six birdies, including three in a row from the second. Late bogeys at the 15th and 18th cost David at least a share of the honours with Hutcheon.

Two more Paul Lawrie Golf Centre players, Craig Lawrie (37-31) and Sam Kiloh (35-33), shared third place on 68. Kiloh had a double bogey 6 at the 14th.

Craig will have the bragging rights in the Lawrie household as he finished two shots ahead of his dad Paul who shared fifth place on level par 70 with nephew Sean Lawrie (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) and Newmachar tour pro John Duff.

David Law's older brother Chris (Northern) was the leading amateur with a 72.

The next North-east Alliance fixture is on Wednesday, January 4 at Inverallochy.
