Jack Pirie beats Michael Lawrie in final

Hazlehead's Jack Pirie beat the favourite, Michael Lawrie (Deeside), by 2 and 1 at Newmachar Golf Club today (Sunday) in the final of the Paul Lawrie Foundation scratch match-play tournament.
Carmen Griffiths (Aboyne), pictured below receiving her trophy from Paul Lawrie, defeated Emma Logie by 7 and 6 in the 36-hole girls' scratch final.
RESULTS:
First round - Jack Pirie bt Ryan Bruce 5 and 4, Nicholas Black bt Cameron Carnegie 3 and 2, Matthew Long bt Cameron gRay 1 hole, Brad Murray bt Kevin Duncan 3 and 2, Craig Leith bt Liam Strath 5 and 3.
Quarter-finals - Pirie bt Sam Locke 1 hole, Ethan Ross bt Blsack 2 and 1, Michael Lawrie bt Long 4 and 3, Leith bt Murray 5 and 3.
Semi-finals - Pirie bt Ross 6 and 5, Lawrie bt Leith 2 and 1.
Final - Pirie bt Lawrie 2 and 1
