Scotland finish T27 at Women's World Amateur Team Championship

Maguire and Mehaffey's strong finish  helps 

Ireland win bronze in Mexico


RIVIERA MAYA, Mexico – In a spectacular finish on Saturday, Duke University third-year student Leona Maguire and Arizona State freshman Olivia Mehaffey helped lead Ireland to a bronze medal at the World Amateur Team Championship as she carded a three-under-par, 69, in the final round.
Maguire, the No. 1 ranked female amateur golfer in the world from of Cavan, Ireland, registered three birdies and no bogeys in the final round to finish tied sixth overall with a six-under-par, 282.  Her birdies came on holes No. 3, No. 5 and No. 13.  Over the four days, Maguire collected rounds of 72, 70, 71 and 69.
Mehaffey, ranked No 5 in the world, shot 74, 71, 75 and 68. Young Annabel Wilson, the third member of the Irish team, shot 80, 79, 74 and 72.
South Korea's Hye jin Choi captured the individual title with a 14-under-par 274 and South Korea won the team title with a 29-under-par 547, 21 shots ahead of the field.
Switzerland finished  second with 568, and Ireland came in third with a seven-under-par 569.  Ireland finished one stroke ahead of Denmark (570).
