REPORT
The Drumpellier Cup first tee off time was 7.30 and started with one of the first three ball being a no show. This was a pattern which was to continue for the whole of the first round with a total of 11 entrants not showing up. The day at Drumpellier was wet to begin with and this carried on until just after noon. This did not hamper play to any great extent and the greens staff did an excellent job keeping the greens playable.
The first round saw some good scoring for the conditions and with scores of 68, 70 and four 71’s from Ed Wood, Cameron Graham, Johnny Torrance, Dominic Dougan, Stewart Henderson and Graeme Cross respectively the scene was set for a tight finish to the competition.

Ed Wood set the second round pace and took the 2 round lead with a second round of 70 giving him a total of 138. Stewart Henderson came in with a second round of 70 putting him in second place but this was soon eclipsed by Johhny Torrance with a second round of 68 which included a triple and a double bogey!!! Johnny was to be beaten into third place when Dominic, in the last game, came in with a 67 to tie for the lead.

This resulted in a play-off over the 1st,2nd, 3rd and 18th holes which saw some very good shot-making from both players, and resulted in Dominic winning the Drumpellier Cup and taking it back to Airdrie.
