Three Scots qualify for Spanish men's
match-play, Macintyre, McDonald fail

Three
Scots - Connor Syme, Liam Johnston and Grant Forrest - were among the 32
qualifiers for the match-play stages of the Spanish men's amateur golf
championship at Seville Golf Club today (Thursday).
Syme shot 70-75 for 145; Johnston 74-72 for 146 and Forrest 77-70 for 147.
The limit qualifying mark was 147
Scottish champion Bob MacIntyre missed out by one stroke with rounds of 73 and 75.
Ewen Ferguson shot 76-74 for 150 while Jack McDonald was four away from qualifying with 77-74 for 151.
Welshman Owen Edwards is the No 1 seed with scores of 66-72 for six-under 138.
In
the first round of the match-play Forrest will play Irishman Colm
Campbell (74-67 for 141); Syme will play Spaniard Francisco Rosete Fabos
while, the lower half of the draw, Johnston will tee it up against
another Spanish player, Ivan Cantero Guierrez.
