Ben Kinsley tied 87th
Scots Liam Johnston from Dumfries and St Andrews' Ben Kinsley had contrasting fortunes in the first round of the Portuguese men's amateur international golf championship at Montado Golf Resort,n near Setubal on the Costa Azul.
Johnston, who spent four years at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, shot a two-under-par 70 to be tied seventh, only four strokes behind the Portuguese leader, Tomas Santos Silva.
But Kinsley struggled to a six-over 78 and was tied 87thin the field of 120 at the end of the first day.
