Kevin Duncan's 62 wins at Newburgh by a 

shot from amateur Gordon Munrao

Professional Kevin Duncan, now playing out of the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre, chalked up his fourth win of the 2015-16 North-east Alliance season with a two-under-par 62 at Newburgh Golf Club today (Wed).

Duncan, pictured, had five birdies (first, third, sixth, 13th and 16th) and three bogeys (seventh, ninth and 17th) with halves of 31 (one under) and 31 (also one under) over the par 64 winter course.
He headed a field of 80 players to win the £100 first prize on a fine day for golf by one stroke from Fraserburgh amateur Gordon Munro.
Munro returned a 63 despite dropping four shots over the eighth and ninth holes  a bogey 4 at the short eighth and a triple bogey 7 at the ninth.
Out in 33 with birdies at the first, third, fourth and sixth holes, Munro breezed in with his fifth, sixth and seventh birdies of the round, at the 10th, 15th and 16th, and would have tied Duncan's 62 but for a bogey 4 at the last and an inward 30.
Hazlehead amateur John Nicolson was third with a 65 (32-33).
There were not one but two sub-60 net scores in Class 2 with Steve Ross (Hazlehead) returning a net 57 off 11 of a handicap, and Tom Boyle (Portlethen) finishing second in the category with a net 58 off 12.
