Byrne misses cut but Lutton sitting pretty

Former Northern Open champion James Byrne from Banchory, now based in Malaysia, missed the cut by two strokes at the halfway stage of the Asian Tour Qualifying School Stage 1 event at Windsor Park G C, Bangkok.
Byrne had rounds of 75 and 78 (two double and a triple in halves of 43-35) for 153. He did have an eagle 3 at the 18th but it was too little, too late.
At the Springfield Royal GC venue at Hua Hin, Thailand, Aberdeen-born Clarke Lutton added a 73 to his opening 72 and is T27 on 145 after two rounds, four shots inside the limit mark.
