Lutton 72, Byrne 75 at Asian Tour Q School

Aberdeen-born Clarke Lutton had a par 72 and James Byrne from Banchory a four-over-par 75 in the first round of the Asian Tour Qualifying School Stage 1 event at four venues in Thailand.

Lutton is tied 25th in a field of 126 at the Springfield Royal GC course, Hua Hin.

Byrne is sharing 74th place in a field of 109 at Windsor Park GC, Bangkok.

Singapore-based Byrne had an eagle 3 at the long fourth but an inward half of 40 included three double bogeys although he finished on a relative high by birdieing the 17th and 18th.
