Forrest moves into top 10 on a tough day at 

Royal Melbourne

Grant Forrest improved to a share of eighth place with a second-round, one -over-par 73 for a halfway total of 145 after tough weather conditions today in the Australian Master of Amateurs tournament at Royal Melbourne Golf Club.
The former Scottish amateur champion dropped fewer shots than most of the field of 78 competitors as he finished the day only three shots behind new leader, Ben Schlottman, a USA college player, who has had a paitr of 71s for two-under 143.
Forrest birdied two par-5 holes, the second and the 15th. He bogeyed the first, 13th and 17th.
Connor Syme is T21 after 75 for 148 which included a double bogey 5 at the short seventh. He had a bag of four birdies, at the second, fourth, 12th and 15th
Jack McDonald's 76 for 150 and a share of 36th place included a double bogey 6 at the first hole in an outward 40. He birded three par-5 holes - the second, 12th and 15th.
Ewen Ferguson is T43 on 151 with rounds of 75 and 76. He had a triple bogey 6 at the short third and a double bogey 7 at the long fourth. The five-hole stretch from the fourth to the eighth cost him eight dropped shots in all. 
He had an eagle 3 at the long 12th and birdies at the second, 13th and 15th.
