An attempt by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to stop the building of a wind farm near his luxury Scottish golf course has been shot down by the British Supreme Court.
In a statement after the decision, The Trump Organization called the Scottish "foolish, small-minded and parochial."
The statement read:
"History will judge those involved unfavourably and the outcome demonstrates the foolish, small minded and parochial mentality which dominates the current Scottish Government’s dangerous experiment with wind energy"
The Trump Organisation's words drew the ire of the Scottish National Party's foreign affairs spokesman Alex Salmond, and Prime Minister David Cameron.
"If he came to visit our country, I think he'd unite us all against him," Cameron told Parliament after calling Trump's remarks "stupid."
Trump believes the plan to build a wind farm off Blackdog in Aberdeenshire two miles away from his golf course would spoil the view of his course, which was a $1.13 billion project.
The Trump Organisation said it will continue to fight the proposal, despite the court's decision.
