                          George Brown 1938 – 2015

We are saddened to report the death of George Brown, 77, who was the former Course Manager at Turnberry, the legendary links facility in Ayrshire, and the National Chairman of BIGGA in 2003.
Hailing from Kent, George was immersed in golf from an early age as a caddie, a greenkeeper and also an extremely talented golfer who played to county standard.
His funeral is taking place at Barham Crematorium on Friday 2nd October at 3.20pm followed by a gathering at Prince's Golf Club, Kent at which all of his friends and colleagues are very welcome.
I am pleased to be able to host a video of George taking part in a preview of The 2009 Open where he spoke passionately about his love for Turnberry, course changes, the weather and Turnberry’s rich history.
