Ranfurly assistants match-play championship

Paul O'Hara beats Sam McLaren at 22nd 

to reach last four

Paul O'Hara (Clydeway Golf), favourite to win the Ranfurlyassistants match-play championship, survived a marathon quarter-final tie today to take his place in the last four.
O'Hara opened with a 4 and 2 win over Pierce Whelan (Bathgate) but had to go to the 22nd in the afternoon before getting the better of Blairgowrie's Sam McLaren
In the semi-finals, O'Hara will play Jackson Bell (unattahed) while Cameron Farrell (Cardross) will play Gavin Hay (Nairn Dunbar).
Bell was a 5 and 3 winner over Tom Dingwall (Kemnay) in the quarter-finals.
Hay beat Jordan Gallagher (Douglas Park) 2 and 1 in the round of the last eight.
