John Woodhouse
Wins Lanarkshire Men's Match-play Title
John Woodhouse, an 18 years old junior and four handicapper,
defied the odds to beat the experienced Ed Wood, plus three Lanarkshire
golfer, of Crow Wood by 2 and 1 in the
final.
John was once again
fast out the traps and was two up through ten with a mixture of birdies and fantastic
short game skills. Ed looked to be back in it at one down with three to go but
a birdie at 16 and par at 17 secured the win for young John, a member of host
club East Kilbride.
His younger brother, 15 years old Alan off a 5 handicap
caddied for him in all his matches. John and Allan are pictured on right.
Lanarkshire Events Convener and Press Officer Willie Sharpe
presented the trophy in the clubhouse.

Lanark Stars for Scotland.
Andy Thomson of Lanark starred for Scotland this week as they
won the Boys Home Internationals in Wales. Andy played in five games and had two wins,
two halves and only one defeat.
