Albert from Lossiemouth leading Scot in

Senior PGA pro championship

Lossiemouth-born Albert MacKenzie, the head pro at Saunton Golf Club, Devon, is the highest placed Scot after the first round of the 54-hole Senior PGA professional championship at Foxhills Golf Club, Surrey.

MacKenzie, pictured, shot a 71 to be joint second, one shot off the pace set by
Graeme Bell (Eaglescliffe) who would have a two-stroke advantage into the second round but for a double bogey at the 18th.
MacKenzie, who had an eagle 3 at the 14th, also dropped two shots late in his round with bogeys at the 17th and 18th.
Carnoustie's Fraser Mann is the next best Scot on 73 (35-38), a shot ahead of Billy Lockie (Gailes Golf Centre) and Stephen McAllister (McAllister Golf).
The field of 148 will be cut to the leading 50 and ties after the second round.
