Tommy McInally wins Ayrshire stroke title for 

third time at home course

Host club player Tommy McInally made it a hat trick of Ayrshire stroke-play championships on Sunday when he led from start to finish at Loudoun Gowf Club.
In breezy and testing conditions, McInally returned a best of the day 68 in the opening round and added a 72 in round two for a 140 total to take the title by a single shot from former winner Stuart Robin (Prestwick St Cuthbert) and defending champion John Shanks (Irvine)
The 2015 win came 12 years after McInally’s first sucess at West Kilbride in 2003 and five years after his second triumph at Prestwick St Cuthbert in 2010.
Keith Hamilton took fourth place on 142 with successive rounds of 71 while Scott Brown (Turnberry) claimed fifth place on 143, just ahead of clubmate Steven Stamper, by virtue of the best inward half of the second round.
