Porter beats Neil as P and K, beaten by Angus at Monifieth, still win Provan Salver

Perth and Kinross lost 5-3 to Angus in a Provan Salver men's inter-district match at Monifieth today (Sunday) but their two victories earlier in the tournament stood them in good stead.
With Fife beating Clackmannan 7-1 in the other concluding match, P and K won the Provan Salver.
Highlight of the day in the Monifieth match was the top singles tie between the new Scottish boys' champion Will Porter (Carnoustie) and reigning ~British amateur champion Bradley Neil (Blairgowrie).
Porter prevailed by a 4 and 2 margin.
