McLEARY'S 65 EARNS HIM THIRD-PLACE £750 PRIZE

Australian Daniel Gaunt won for the second time in a couple of weeks on the Algarve Pro Tour with an eight-under-par total of 136 at this week's 36-hole event at Salgados Golf Club.
Gaunt had rounds of 69 and 67 to head a field of 61 players and win first prize of £1,650  by a shot from Englishman Marcus Armitage (67-70) (£1,100) with Scot Jamie McLeary, pictured below, earning £750 for third place  on 138 after a best-of-the-day (by two shots) second round of seven-under 65.
Duncan Stewart tied for 13th place on 143 with scores of 72 and 71, a shot ahead of Conor O'Neil (7-73). Stewart earned £100. O'Neil was just outside the prizelist.
Craig Lawrie tied for 24th place on 146 with a pair of 73s alongside Jay Taylor who crashed from an opening 69 to a 77, which included double bogeys at the par-4 fourth and par-3 17th.
