FINNS FIGHT BACK TO DRAW WITH ENGLAND

Both opening-day matches in the Costa Ballena Golf Club (Cadiz) men's amateur quadrangular finished in draws -
England 4.5, Finland 4.5
Germany 4.5, Spain 4.5
England led 2-1 after the foursomes but the Finns took the singles 3.5 to 2.5.
It was the same chain of events in the other match with Germany winning the foursomes 2-1 but losing the singles by a point to Spain.

Turner lost to Saulo 4 and 2.
Towndrow bt Valmaki 1 hole.
Gregory halved with Lindell.
Burleson bt Nukari 3 and 2.
Bower lost to Viitharju 4 and 2.
Keeble lost to Ruuska 5 and 3.

Foursomes (2-1)
Michael Hirmer and Matthias Schmid bt Mario Galiano and Victor Pastor 5 and 3.
Raphael Geissler and Timo Vahlenkamp bt Pablo Rodrigues and Vcitory Garcia 1 hole.
Yannick Schutz and Nicklas Mattner lost to Ivan Cantero and Xavier Gorospe 6 and 5.

Singles (2.5-3.5)
Hirmer lost to Galiano 3 and 1.
Schmid lost to Pastor 1 hole.
Geissler bt Garcia 5 and 4. 
Vahlenkamp lost to Rodrigues 4 and 2.
Schutz bt Cantero 2 holes
Mattner halved with Gorospe.
