BANCHORY MAN FINISHES BOGEY-BOGEY-TRIPLE BOGEY

BYRNE SURVIVES CUT DESPITE

MAKING LIFE DIFFICULT FOR HIMSELF
Kuala Lumpur: Banchory's James Byrne survived the halfway cut despite dropping five shots to par over the last three holes in the second round of the Asian Development Tour's season-ending PGM MIDF KLGCC Championship at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club's East Course
Byrne, needing to improve on a first-round 76 was four under par on the day after only seven holes, following an eagle 3 at the long sixth and birdies at the first and short seventh. He dropped a shot at the ninth to be out in 32 but then birdied the 10th, 12th and 13th to be six under par for the round.
Then it all went pear-shaped for the former Northern Open champion. He bogeyed the long 16th and short 17th before running up a triple bogey 7 at the 18th for 38 home.
His two-round tally of four-over-par 146 saw him beat the cut by two shots.
Byrne is nine shots behind the leader, England's Peter Richardson who has scored 66 and 71 for five-under 137.
