Paul Lawrie's five wins in six starts have catapulted him up to second place in the North-east Alliance Order of Merit but it looks like being a case of so far and no further.
The 1999 Open champion returns to the European Tour in early January and with the North-east Alliance having its mid-winter break until Inverallochy on January 7, Paul does not see himself having the time to play again - much as he likes it - on the alliance winter circuit.
That means Order of Merit leader Newmachar amateur John Duff , 270pt ahead of third-placed Joel Hopwood (Royal Aberdeen), looks
like still be in the pole position by the end of the second half of the 2014-2015 NE Alliance season at the end of March
Craibstone's teaching pro Lee Vannet moved up from seventh to fifth, Kevin Duncan (Cruden Bay) from eighth to seventh, and Craig Lawrie (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) from 18th to 13th.
Young Sam Kiloh (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) improved from 20th to 15th
