WEST OF SCOTLAND LEAGUE



GLASGOW INFLICT FIRST DEFEAT

ON LANARKSHIRE AT EAST KILBRIDE

Lanarkshire lost their first West of Scotland League inter-county match of the season 4 1/2-3 1/2  to Glasgow today at East Kilbride Golf Club. Lanarkshire were up in six matches through nine holes but Glasgow rallied with team manager Stephen Machin leading by example and winning his match against Strathclyde University player Craig Hughes  by 4 3.
Lanarkshire’s  next match is away to Stirlingshire at Glenbervie on October 5.  Lanarkshire youth team won 7-1 away to Glasgow at Cowglen and their next game is against Stirlingshire at Airdrie on October 5

Craig Ross (Kirkhill) bt Gordon Sangster (Cathkin Braes) 2 and 1.
Ed Wood (Crow Wood) halved with Barry Hume (Haggs Castle).
Ross Hinshelwood (East Kilbride) lost to John Laurie  (Glasgow) 2 and 1.
Steven Rennie (Drumpellier) bt Scott Wearing (Bishopbriggs) 3 and 2.
Kenny Gallacher (East Kilbride) bt Blair Dalgleish (Ralston) 4 and 3.
Jamie Lamb (Lanark) lost to Craig Morrison (Haggs Castle) 1 hole.
Craig Hughes (Drumpellier) lost to Stephen Machin (Cowglen) 4 and 3.
Graeme  Cross (Hamilton) lost to Stuart Black (Cathcart) 6 and 4.

No game next week due to Ryder Cup.
