SCOTS' SOUND START TO EISENHOWER TROPHY IN JAPAN


Scotland made a solid start to the Eisenhower Trophy at Karuizawa, Japan today (Wednesday).
Gramt Forrest (Craigielaw) shot a 68, Chris Robb (Meldrum House) a 70 and Blairgowrie's Bradley Neil a 72.
Under the best two from three format, that gave Scotland a first-round total of 138 and joint 10th place at the end of the first day.
Canada, Sweden and Switzerland are sharing the lead on 10-under-par 134.
England are joint sixth on 136, Ireland and Wales are alongside the Scots on 138
