James White and Michael Stewart shot 71 and 72 respectively to be outwith the leading 50 at the end of the first round of the Alps Tour event in Italy, the Open La Pinetina Memorial over La Pinetina Golf Club's par 70 course.

Fifer White had a 71 for a share of 58th place - eight shots behind joint leaders Gregory Molteni (Italy) and Dominque Nouailhac (France) - while Stewart, from Ayrshire is joint 73rd after a 72.
