Ross Kellett, lying eighth on 11-under-par 205 after three rounds of the European Tour Q School Stage 1 eliminator at Frilford Heath, Oxfordshire, is well placed to be one of those inside the top 20 who will advance to Stage 2 in Spain after Friday's final rounmd.

Kellett has had rounds of 68, 67 and 70 and is four shots behind the leader, England's Nick McCarthy who has scored 66, 68 and 67 for 15-under 201.

But Scott Stewart-Cation, joint 44th on 214 (72-70-72), and Mark Hillson, sharing 50th place on 215 (70-73-72) are unlikely to gain pass marks.

Michael Stewart from Ayrshire missed the cut to the leading 50 and ties. He was joint 79th on 221 (69-75-77).
