STIRLING STUDENT WINS BOYD QUAICH
  
 WITH BETTER LAST ROUND

Stirling University student Henry Tomlinson won the Boyd Quaich international students tournament at St Andrews today on a countback after 72 holes.
Tomlinson, an Englishman, and Frenchman Nicolas Maheut from the University of Rouen had tied on five-under-par 281 after two rounds of the Old Course and two rounds over the New Course.
There is no provision for a play-off and Tomlinson's better last round, a two-under-par 70 over the Old Course, prevailed over Maheut's 73.
Craig Chalmers (Strathclyde University) finished third on 283.
The Boyd Quaich international students tournament is held annually to commerate the Boyd brothers, students at St Andrews University, who were both killed during World War 2. and also all students who died in the conflict.
