FOTHERINGAM LEADS INVERNESS TO
NORTH DISTRICT TEAM TITLE
Former Scotland international Bryan Fotheringham spearheaded Inverness Golf Club to victory in the North District team championship with a five-under-par total of 135 (69 and 66) at Brora today (Sunday).
Inverness go forward to be the North repreentatives in the Scottish finals at Lundin Golf Club, Fife on Sunday, September 14
Fotheringham's clubmates were John Forbes (74-72) and David Joel (74-75)
Teams could discard one score per round.
Inverness totalled 281 to win by seven shots from defending champions Fortrose and Rosemarkie (Lewis Reid 73-74, Allan Cameron 71-74, Chris Gaittens 74-70).
Moray (Kyle Godsman 70-73, Ian Geddes NR-77, , Malcolm MacLeman 71-74) also totalled 288 but lost out on a third-player countback.
