ABERDEEN ASSET MANAGEMENT SCOTTISH OPEN

STEPHEN GALLACHER'S RECORD 63

Felipe Aguilar and then Stephen Gallacher broke Rory McIlroy's four-day old Balgownie pro course record of 64 with eight-under-par 63s in the final round of the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open championship over the Royal Aberdeen links.
Aguilar, from Chile, had rounds of 73, 71, 73 and 63 and tied for 24th place on  280
Gallacher finished fourth on 274 with his scores of 72, 69, 70 and 63.
Stephen from Bathgate and playing partner Scott Jamieson from Glasgow sparked off each other with Jamieson holing a 10ft birdie putt on the last, which earned him a late entry to the Open.
Three spots were up for grabs under the new R and A scheme for qualifying and Jamieson grabbed the last one. The two other places were won by Sweden's Kristoffer Broberg and Egland's Tyrrell Hatton.

PAUL LAWRIE SUNDAY FIREWORKS

Paul Lawrie is not going to win the AAM Scottish Open but he certainly bowed out with the home fans' cheers ringing in his ears.

Lawrie, in his final round, birdied the third, fourth, fifth, sixth (out in 32), the 13th and 14th.
A bogey at the 15th knocked him back to five under par for the day.
He then birdied the 16th but, unfortunately, bogeyed the 18th for 34 home and a five-under-par 66.
