NICK FALDO SERIES SCOTTISH QUALIFIER OVER THREE ROUNDS
FIFE BOYS DISPUTE LEAD AT PANMURE
WITH TWO-UNDER-PAR 68s
Benjamin Kinsley (St Andrews) and Niall Mcmullen of Lundin
share the lead after day one of the Faldo Series Scotland Championship.
Kinsley and Mcmullen, both members of the Scotland boys’ squad, posted
two-under par rounds of 68 at Panmure Golf Club in Angus to head the 90
strong field by one going in to Wednesday’s second round.
One
shot behind the co-leaders are Angus Carrick (Douglas Park), Calum Fyfe
(Cawder) and 2012 Faldo Series finalist Callum Cochrane (Marriott
Dalmahoy) who all returned 69s.
In the Girls’ division Minto’s Tara
Mactaggart leads by one from Natasha Slater of Furness after an opening
round of 75.
The field is divided into
four age-groups – three for boys and one for girls – and the winners of
each division plus the girls’ runner-up will join Sir Nick Faldo at the
season-ending 18th Faldo Series Grand Final at The Greenbrier in West Virginia, USA.
