The Clydeway Golf player, pictured, who was beaten finalist three times in the Scottish amateur championship (2004-2006-2009), was approximately 12 under par for the final day in which he beat No 7 seed Ross Jack (Dumfries and Galloway) by 5 and 4 in the final, having beaten the No 4 seed, Louis Gaughan (Bathgate) 7 and 5 in the morning semi-finals.
Jack was three under par after 10 holes of the final but still three down at that stage to O'Hara who was two up after five holes.
O'Hara won £900 and Jack £700.
The third-place play-off was won by Gaughan who beat Poyser 7 and 6. Gaughan earned £550 and Poyser £450.

+This was the first of five counting events for the Young Pros' Order of Merit 2014.
+It has been possible to increase the number of events thanks to the backing of W L Gore and Galvin Green who are jointly sponsoring the Scottish Young Pros OOM.
