STEPHEN McALLISTER FIRST, KEN HUTTON SECOND AT GLENEAGLES PRO-AM

OLD HEADS LEAD YOUNGER BRIGADE

OVER RYDER CUP COURSE

Senior professionals Stephen McAllister (Renaissance) and Downfield's Ken Hutton held off their younger rivals to win the top two cash awards in the Brother pro-am over Gleneagles Hotel's Centenary Course, which will host the Ryder Cup match in September.
McAllister lifted the £750 top prize with a one-over-par 73 which contained birdies at the long second and short sixth as well as bogeys at the first, 12th and 13th.
Hutton, recent winner of the Senior PGA Professional title at Foxhills, shot a 74 in which he had a chance to pip McAllister after birdieing the 11th and 12th to balance out bogeys at the third and fifth.
But Ken bogeyed the 13th and 17th to finish one behind the winner and settle for the runners-up's £650 award.
