ASIAN DEVELOPMENTAL TOUR EVENT IN PHILIPPINES
JAMES BYRNE MISSES MANILA CUT
BY FOUR STROKES
Manila:Twenty-one players have still to complete their second rounds in the rain-disrupted Asian Developmental Tour's Riviera Classic at Riviera Golf and Country Club, Manilla in the Philippines.
But Singapore-based James Byrne from Banchory knows already that he has missed the cut.
With rounds of 75 and 76 for nine-over-par 151, there is no way the 2012 and 2013 Northern Open champion can survive to the weekend's final two rounds.
Byrne has shot seven birdies over the 36 holes but he had a double bogey 6 at the seventh and a triple bogey on his first-round card. If he could eliminate the errors he would be returning the scores that
made him a leading amateur before he turned pro.
Philippines’ Charles Hong made it a day to remember by sharing
the second round clubhouse lead on four-under-par 138 with compatriots Albin Engino (69-69) and
Robert Pactolerin (69-69) after signing for a flawless four-under-par 67 following a first-round 71.
