Adamstal/Austria− German Alexander Knappe from Paderborn is the winner of the 2014 Adamstal Open at Adamstal Golf Club, Austria.
He prevailed in a play-off against Austrian amateur Sebastian Wittmann after they had tied with 65s, five under par and two strokes clear of the field.
On the second extra hole, the par-3 18th, Knappe got a birdie 2 to win the trophy, 5,000 euros and 5,000pts for the Pro Golf Tour Order of Merit.
The tournament had to be reduced from 54 holes to one round after a blunder by the greenkeeping staff in making changes to the course while play was in progress, forcing the organisers to declare the opening day's play null and void.
Then thunderstorms and prolonged heavy rain meant that only a handful of players were able to complete 18 holes on Tuesday.
For Knappe it is his second win this season as he was successful already at the Sueno Dunes Classic in January in Turkey where he also won after a play-off.
Only two Scots were left in the field after Connor O'Neil (Pollok) flew home early because of a back injury.
Michael Patterson (Kilmacolm) finished T51 with a 75 while Philip McLean (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) returned an 83 (41-42) for a share of 112th place.
