UNDER-16 QUADRANGULAR WON BY HOST NATION


SCOTS BOYS DRAW WITH IRELAND,
FINISH SECOND TO NETHERLANDS

Scotland finished runners-up to surprise title winners Netherlands
after drawing 6-6 with Ireland on the last day of the Under-16
boys' quadrangular golf international at Purmerend, Holland
today (Thursday).
The Scots, who beat Wales 9-3 in their opening match, went down
8-4 to the Netherlands on the second day.
All four countries had 2pt and a title chance going into the last
day with Netherlands taking the title with an 8 1/2-3 1/2 win
    over Wales.
Netherlands topped the table with 4pt. Scotland and Ireland both
amassed 3pt with the Scots declared runners-up on a games-won
countback.
