DEREK HUNTER MOVING TO EDINBURGH FROM WORSLEY PARK, nr MANCHESTER

NEW COURSE MANAGER AT THE MARRIOTT, DALMAHOY

HOTEL and COUNTRY CLUB
Our newly appointed Course Manager Derek Hunter, will start at Dalmahoy on Wednesday 30th April 2014. Derek is currently the Course Manager at Worsley Park near Manchester, which is also a Marriott Country Club.
He has been at Worsley since 2007 and has done a fantastic job in turning the golf course around.
Having had lengthy discussions with both the Director of Golf and the General Manager at Worsley Park, I know they are both personally very disappointed he has decided to join us at Dalmahoy, and both agree he will be a big loss.
Derek has 22 years experience behind him, and actually started his career at Dalmahoy in 1991. He moved from Dalmahoy to Goodwood Park, where he was Course Manager for 7 years before joining Worsley.
Derek is very excited about returning to Dalmahoy and after spending a recent weekend on site, he is well aware of the job and the challenge he has ahead. I know he will relish the role and I am delighted with his appointment.
With Derek’s appointment, we bid farewell to Andrew Hastie who is taking early retirement. Andrew has been a loyal and dedicated Course Manager at Dalmahoy for the past 25 years.
In that time, Dalmahoy hosted The Solheim Cup, 3 Scottish PGA Championships and 3 Scottish Senior Championships as well as many other prestigious tournaments. Every one of these events was a huge success and we received many accolades praising our courses and venue. As well as these events, Andrew overseen the £1 million re-structure of the East Course in 2005. Everyone at Dalmahoy would like to thank him for his efforts and wish him all the best for his retirement.
