The Angus County boys and youths had their annual  team trials in a bitterly cold 40mph wind on the Monifieth links today, writes Alex McKay
In a change from the usual matchplay format, this year it was a three-ball better-ball scratch format which met with the approval of all who were involved.
The boys played 18 holes on the Ashludie course in the morning but due to the increasing strength of the wind in the afternoon, it was decided cut the competition to 9 holes on the medal course.
