JAMIE DICK WINS FALDO SERIES QUALIFIER AT PYLE AND KENFIG GC

Jamie Dick of Forest Hills Golf Club, Gloucestershire shot a final round 69 to complete a wire-to-wire victory in the Faldo Series Wales Championship at Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club in Bridgend, South Wales.
The 18-year-old equalled the course record of 66 in each of his first two rounds en route to a dominant 13-stroke win. 
“I played great all week and I am really pleased to have shot the course record twice on my way to victory,” commented Dick who also won the prestigious Darwin Salver in March.
“I’ve never been to the USA before so I am very excited about going to The Greenbrier in October.”
2012 Faldo Series Girls’ Under-16 champion Sophie Keech (Parkstone) was almost as dominant in the Girls' Division, winning by nine shots to qualify for her fourth consecutive Faldo Series Grand Final, while Lucy Walton (Girls Under-16) from The Worcestershire will line up in her first final at The Greenbrier in October.
Two other age-group winners heading to the 18th Faldo Series Grand Final in West Virginia, USA are Charlie Strickland of Ham Manor (Boys’ Under-16) and Kieron Harman from Radyr, who ensured that Wales will be represented at the Grand Final for the first time since 2012 by winning the Boys’ Under-21 division.
Supported by The RandA, ISPS Handa, The European Tour and The Greenbrier, the 2014 Faldo Series Europe schedule features 17 tournaments in 15 countries including three in England plus others in Abu Dhabi, Ireland, Chile, Wales, Brazil, Scotland, Czech Republic, Italy, Austria, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Slovakia and the USA.

In September 2014, Faldo will begin taking students at a full-time residential academy for education and golf development in America.  The first ever Faldo Series Academy in Casa Grande, Arizona marks another significant step in the programme’s history.
