EUROPEAN TOUR EVENT AT HALFWAY

MARC WARREN SETTING THE PACE AT

 SOTOGRANDE WITH FIVE-UNDER 139

Marc Warren took over the leadership in the European Tour event at Sotogrande with a second-round 67 for a five-under-par tally of 139
well before the end of play.
The Scot led by one shot from Chile's Felipe Aguilar (71-69)
Compatriot Jack Doherty, whose 69 retained him the lead as the first round was completed this morning, is still out on the course at the time of writing but he is behind Warren's five-under-par standard.
Scott Jamieson and Richie Ramsay both returned 72s for 143 and are "safe" for the weekend action.
The cut forecast is for players with 36-hole tallies of 148 and better to make it.
That means that Duncan Stewart is out of it with 76 and 73 for 149. Same applies to Scott Henry with 79 and 76.
Chris Doak, who had a score of 86 in the wild wind that blew on Thursday, did not go out for a second round. He retired from the tournament.
