EUROPRO TOUR FINAL Q SCHOOL

Stirling University graduate David Booth (Rotherham), Scottish youths champion in 2008 during his college days, won the £2,400 first prize
with a 13-under-par total of 203 (65-71-67) at the PGA EuroPro Tour Final Qualifying School at Frilford Heath GC, Oxfordshire.

Motherwell's Ross Kellett, after starting the tournament with a 73, maintained his improvement with a final round of 69 after a middle-day 66 to finish ninth, the leading Scot of the 11 who survived the 36-hole cut.
Kellett, sponsored by Aberdeen Asset Management, earned £800 for a eight-under-par 208 aggregate.

Generally, it was a good last day for the Scots.
Fraserburgh's Kris Nicol (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) signed off with a 67 for six-under 210, the same total as Aberdour amateur and Scotland cap Scott Crichton who reeled off three 70s in a row.
They tied for 15th place and will be able to play in all 15 of the scheduled PGA EuroPro Tour 54-hole events in the forthcoming season.
Crichton will now have to turn pro, one would think, or what was the point of paying the best part of £500 to become a PGA member and enter the Q School?
Paul Robinson (Largs), after being well in the mix with rounds of 69 and 67, slumped over the final 18 holes to a 75 for 211 and joint 22nd place - still a good performance by a player now well known outside Ayrshire.
Paul Cormack (Inchmarlo) came back to form with a 70 for 212, the same aggregate as Newmachar's Malcolm Isaacs who had a 69 for the second day in a row. They tied for 31st place.
Jordon McColl (Scotscraig) and Chris Currie (Caldwell) finished on three-under 213. McColl had a third-round 70, Currie a 72. They finished joint 39th.
Eric Ramsay (Carnoustie) and Greg McBain (Kemnay) both hit the 214 mark with Ramsay recording a 72 and McBain a 73. They finished joint 47th.
Graham Rankin did not have a good last day. The Drumpellier man, a former Walker Cup player and Northern Open champion in 2001, ended with a 75 for 218 and joint 76th place in a field of 88.
