H R SPENCE TROPHY TOURNAMENT AT TORVEAN


CAMERON FRANSSEN WINS NORTH 

BOYS TITLE IN INVERNESS

Cameron Franssen (Inverness) won the North of Scotland boys' golf championship for the H R Spence Trophy at Torvean Golf Club, Inverness today (Sunday) by the runaway margin of six strokes over two rounds.
Franssen had scores of 70 and 71 for a total of 141 against the CSS of 69 for the morning round and 68 for the afternoon.
Runner-up on 147 was Inverness clubmate David Grindell (72-75) with the long-distance traveller, Euan Munro (Reay) third on 148 (77-71)
Two more Inverness boys made the top six. Jamie Penwright (83-72) finished joint fourth on 155 with team-mate Euan Gill (78-77) and Michael Schinkell (Orkney) (79-76) who had an even longer return trip than Munro.
Andrew Moir (Elgin) had the lowest scratch aggregate by an Under-16 year-old. She shot 72 and 75 for 147 - five ahead of Finlay Asher (The Nairn) (76-76) with Hamish McColm (The Nairn) third on 158 (86-72)
The lowest net aggregate prize was won by Steven Pears (Nairn Dunbar) with a titak if 124 off 25. He won b y a shot from Kyle Pirie (Isle of Skye) who had 125 off 23 with Scott Lawrie (Fort William) third on 127 off 18.
