CALUM FYFE PIPS SAM LOCKE IN 

TIGHT  FINISH AT LOSSIEMOUTH

Cawder's Calum Fyfe won the opening Scottish Hydo Junior Tour 54-hole tournament at Moray Golf Club, Lossiemouth today (Sunday) after a tight finish.
Two strokes spanned the leading five finishers with Fyfe's scores of 70, 71 and 72 for a three-over total of 213 earning him a one-stroke victory from Sam Locke (Banchory), son of Paul Lawrie's swing coach Andrew Locke.
Locke shot 73, 73 and 68.
Joint third on 215 were Niall McMullen (Lundin), Joseph Bryce (Bathgate) and Stuart Irving (Falkirk).
Victory looked like slipping away from Fyfe when he bogeyed the first, fourth, 10th and 12th in his final round but he stopped the rot with birdies at the 13th and 14th which, in the final analysis, won him the tournament.
Locke birdied the third, fifth, 10th and 18th in his
closing 68 but he will be rueing his third bogey of the morning, at the 14th, which saw him finish one shot behind the winner.
Players with two-round totals of 152 and better qualified for the final round.
Michael Lawrie (Deeside), one of the pre-tournament favourites, retired after an opening round of 78.
