DUDDINGSTON DUO SCOOP TOP PRIZES 

AT EYEMOUTH

Edinburgh and East of Scotland Alliance

The East Alliance member-plus-guest invitational better-ball event took place this week in Berwickshire where 45 teams competed for the Richardson and Brownlee Trophy at a well prepared Eyemouth course where the kind weather continued for our season.

The Duddingston duo of member Iain Stavert and guest Stuart Smith convincingly secured the trophy with a nett score of 65 and also the best scratch score on the day with a four-under-par better ball of 68.

Second net prize went to David Nicolson (Craigielaw) with his guest Graham Muir (Kingsknowe) on 67.

Third were Robert Marshall (Greenburn) and his guest Stephen Buntin (Polkemmet) on 70.

No fewer than 10 teams followed one shot behind with net 71s.

With the 'Duddy Duo' securing the trophy and top handicap prize on the day, the top scratch prize was allocated two ways with one under par scores to the combinations of Neil Henderson (Renaissance) with his fellow Renaissance guest Diane  Brown and the team of  Alan Reid (West Lothian) with his fellow West Lothian guest Paul Dick.

Next week we head for our penultimate outing at Broomieknowe before the annual East Championships take place at Gullane on March 

 26.
