ELLON MAN BIRDIES 17TH AND 18TH FOR JOINT 19TH PLACE

LATE BIRDIES EARN ROSS CAMERON

TOP TWENTY  FINISH IN EGYPT

Ellon's Ross Cameron squeezed into a top 20 finish with birdies at the 17th and 18th in a final-roun d, two-under-par 70 at the Alps Tour's Red Sea Little Venice Open at Sokhna Golf Club, Egypt.
Cameron finished joint 19th and earned 426 Euros for a total of four-under-par 212. His earlier rounds were 68 and 74.
Fraserburgh's Kris Nicol (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) did not fare so well. Round of 71, 72 and 74 gave him a joint 36th place finish on one-over 217 for a payslip of 313 Euros.
In his final round, Nicol had a double bogey 7 at the long third and a double bogey 6 at the 18th which nullified birdies at the seventh, 16th and 17th.
England's Andrew Cooley from Chobham Golf Club retained the title and earned a 5,000 Euros pay-out with a 15-under-par total of 201, thanks to a brilliant last round of eight-under 64 (30-34). He won by three strokes from Frenchman Clement Berardo (66-69-69).
