SIX SCOTS MISS THE CUT IN ALPS TOUR EVENT

CAMERON AND NICOL SURVIVE IN EGYPT

Ross Cameron from Ellon and fellow North-east player, Kris Nicol (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) were the only Scots to make the 36-hole cut today in the Alps Tour's Red Sea Little Venice Open at Sokhna Golf Club, Egypt.
The six other Scots in the field - Jordan McColl, John Gallagher, John Henry, Ross Kellett, Michael Stewart and James White all failed to reach the qualifying mark of one-under-par 143.
Cameron lost ground on the leaders with a 74 which included double bogeys at the sixth and seventh but birdies at the fourth, fifth, 13th and 17th kept him in contention for at least a top 20 place.
He is joint 25th on two-under 142.
Nicol had a 72 for 143, the limit mark, thaks to birdies at the short 13th and long 17th after being three over par for the day on the fifth tee.
Dundee's McColl and Gallagher from Duddingston both totalled 144, one shot too many. Rookie McColl had a pair of 72s, Gallagher a 75 after an error-strewn first nine holes (out in 41) which birdies at the 15th, 17th and 18th could not repair.
John Henry (Clydebank and Dist) (71) and Motherwell's Ross Kellett (72) - the top Scot in last week's event at the same venue - missed out on 145 while Stewart (72) and rookie White (77) bowed out on 149 and 151 respectively.
Young Frenchman Thomas Elissalde leads by two shots with 65 and 67 for 12-under 132.
