Alps Tour player Kris Nicol from Fraserburgh was in France last week, Newmachar today and he will be in Italy next week.
The nomadic, have-clubs-will travel existence would not suit a lot of golfers but Kris says he is loving it.
And how nice for the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre player to win the £150 top prize in his first appearance on the 2013-14 North-east Alliance season over a Newmachar Hawkshill course playing long and, as usual, very difficult if you don't keep your ball out of the trees.
There were more than 20 No Returns today in a field of 93, which is usually a sign of bad weather but that did not apply today.
Nicol was the only player to break the par of 72 over the late Dave Thomas's creation. He returned a 70 (35-35) with the help of an eagle 3 at the second where he chipped in from about 15 yards.
The first of only two bogeys he had all day came at the fourth.
He birdied the 12th (drive, wedge, 3ft putt), the 14th (three-wood, 52degree wedge, 10ft putt) and the 18th (35ft putt), dropping only one more shot - a three-putt 5 at the 17th.
Nicol was one of the late finishers and until he came in, Fraserburgh student and amateur Gordon Munro had led for several hours with a par-matching 72.
Another amateur from the Broch, which made it three out of three at the top of the leaderboard, Justin Duff, who has a +2 rating, also came in late to share second place on 72.
Sean Lawrie (Portlethen) birdied the last three holes after starting with a double bogey 6. He shared fourth place on 73 withChristopher Lamb (Newmachar) - whose front-nine 34 was the day's best - and Alan Stuart, a staff pro from the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre.
Stuart had a double bogey 6 at the 17th.

NOTE FROM JOINT-SEC DAVE WILSON
Once again not all cards were returned today. It is very important even if you have a No Return. The score, including No Returns, MUST be put into computer. so that we can keep a tally.
It would be very helpful if you can call on Tuesday morning if you need to cancel your tee time for Aboyne.
In that way your tee time for next Wednesday can be allocated to someone else, unlike today when NINE people just did not turn up.
PHONE the NE Alliance mobile phone on Tuesdays to do this and also to reserve one of the free times on the above list..
The number - 07523 859149
DO NOT TEXT
thank you,
Dave Wilson
