DAVID LAW SETS HOT PACE IN POLISH MASTERS

Paul Lawrie Invitational winner David Law carried his good form over to the German PGA's Pro Tour event, the Polish Masters, to lead after the first round with a five-under-par 67.
Playing over the Toya Golf and Country Club course near Wroclaw, the 22-year-old Aberdonian birdied the first, second, seventh, eighth, 15th and 18th and in hlaves of 33 and 34. His only bogey came at the third.
On a day when there was an abundance of sub-70 scores, the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre player leads by one from Johannes Steiner (Austria), Darren Wright (England), Marcel Schneider (Germany), Dennis Kupper (Germany) and Ken Benz (Switzerland).
Peterhead's Phil McLean had three birdies but six bogeys in compiling a three-over 75 which left him in joint 49th place in a field of 75 players.
