MALCOLM ISAACS LEADING SCOT AT VALDERRAMA
Malcolm Isaacs (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) finished as the leading Scot in the one-round Spanish Gecko Pro Tour Championship at Valderrama on the Costa del Sol - but he was some eight shots behind the winner, Juan Quiros (Spain). Isaacs shot an eight-over-par 78 (38-40) for a share of 23rd place. Ranfurly Castle amateur Sam Binning had a 79 (39-40) for joint 28th position. John Hendry, Clydebank and District pro, had an 80 (42-38) for joint 39th place. Rookie pro Callum Trahan (Meldrum House) returned an 84 (41-43) for joint 39th place. Senior Tour player Quiros, who lives on the Costa del Sol, shot a one-under-par 70 to win by three shots from England's Jack Winer, and Nick Joy, and another member of the Quiros clan, Manuel.
