A GRAND PERFORMANCE BY GALLAGHER IN SPAIN
Former
Scottish amateur champion John Gallagher, now playing out of
Duddingston Golf Club, won 1,000 Euros as runner-up in the Gecko Tour
36-hole competition at La Reserva Golf Club on the Costa del Sol,
Spain.The cack-handed Scot shot a pair of par 72s for 144, finished three strokes behind the winner of the 2,000 Euros first prize, Eirik Tage Johansen (Denmark), with
scores of 72-69 for three-under 141.Malcolm Isaacs (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre), Elliot Saltman (Archerfield Links) and Myles
Cunningham (Longniddry) all finished out of the money.Isaacs had scores of 80-75 for 155 and a share of 16th place.Saltman return 76-80 for 156 and joint 18th place.Cunningham chalked up rounds of 88-82 for 170 and a share of 39 place in a field of 50.
