NEWS RELEASE
The DF Communications Golf League came to a thrilling conclusion at the Trump International Golf Links.
Teams from 13 companies teed-off at Donald Trump’s much-heralded Balmedie course with Xerox UK clinching top prize.
Paul Gallacher and Neil Bremner picked up the trophy for Xerox UK and also collected a magnum of champagne each for their efforts. There were also silver and bronze prizes – with Printagraph claiming second place, while Paull & Williamsons came in third.
Additionally, there were fun competitions held amongst the players – Dominic King from ConocoPhillips won longest drive, while Richard Strachan from Paull and Williamsons was nearest the pin.
Money raised from the 2012 tournament will be donated to DF Communications’ nominated charity, Marie Curie Cancer Care. This year’s winners, Xerox UK, will select the charity to benefit from the 2013 competition.
Trump International lived up to its billing as one of the world’s finest golf courses – although the wind off the North Sea did ensure it was a tight encounter.
Craig Forsyth, sales director at mobile phones provider DF Communications, said: “It proved to be a superb course and I’m sure, before too long, it will be right up there with the best in the world. Everyone really enjoyed playing at the course while all the staff were excellent.”
The league, sponsored by DF Communications, saw 30 companies from across the north-east of Scotland tee-off at a variety of local courses.
After a summer of fierce competition, ConocoPhillips, Craig International Supplies, Electro Flow Control Ltd, GCA, GMI Services, Hunting Energy Services, Knight Property Group PLC, McIntosh Donald, Nu-Style Products, Paull & Williamsons, Printagraph, Scotia Instrumentation and Xerox UK all reached the final.

The finalists competed in a combined Stableford competition with players from different companies mixed into various smaller groups. The all-day event included breakfast, refreshments and a two-course lunch. All the finalists received a bottle of champagne as a thank you for taking part.
Craig added: “We’re pleased with how well the competition has gone this year in our first year as organiser and hope to build upon the tournament’s success next year. We’ve already received a lot of enquiries from teams keen to enter next year’s competition.”
